ABOUT
I am a Mexican American woman and a passionate storyteller. I have experience in social media strategy, influencer marketing, PR & more. I’m committed to driving brand awareness and believe relationship building is at the core of all strong campaigns.
MY CAREER JOURNEY
In college, I gained experience with social media marketing when I worked at The Poly Post, Cal Poly Pomona’s student-run media outlet, as the Marketing Assistant and Social Media Manager. During my role, I planned daily marketing content for Instagram Reels and TikTok, successfully increased followers by more than 450%, and grew engagement by over 350% with videos reaching over 200K views.
My second internship was at a full-service marketing agency called Crowdboost Marketing, where I worked accross over 8 clients in fitness, hospilablity, non-profit, and more as a Marketing intern. I assisted with social media staregy, content creation, influencer seeding and paid initiatives, and writing blog posts for company websites.
After graduation, I secured an internship at Adobe, as a Product Marketing intern, where I conducted and reviewed market research of creative professionals, creating reports and customer profiles to gain insights on key audience segment needs and motivations. I learned the value and importance of market research prior to creating other materials.
My first full time role was as a Marketing & Communications Assistant at Woodbury University, where I managed all social media platforms, created social campaigns, assisted with email marketing, video creation, and PR/press coverage. I also managed a team of content creator/marketing interns where I created content calendars and assigned weekly social media tasks to them. During my time in this role, I increased engagement by 210% accross all social platforms.
I currently work as the Influencer Marketing and PR coordintor at Beauty Creations Cosmetics, a mexican owned beauty brand that's in retail stores over 40 countries, including CVS, HEB, and more. I spearheaded the influencer marketing program, increasing our influencer community by over 40% YOY and our engagement by over 250% YOY. I’ve worked accross campaigns leading launch events, activations, influencer gifting, paid influencer campaigns, and managing the day-to-day communication with our PR agency.
Beyond my professional experience, I volunteer every year with a community non-profit Mid City Mercado, to put on the largest Dia de los Muertos festival in Los Angeles. I lead the content and marketing committee, where we work to promote this festival. During my time managing the content, the social platforms gained over 3M profile views, increasing engagement by 285%.
“Kaitlyn’s strong work ethic and eagerness to tackle new challenges were evident from the beginning. She consistently produced engaging and compelling content that resonated with our target audience. Her ability to understand the brand voice and adapt it to different social media platforms was impressive. Kaitlyn displayed exceptional communication skills and a strong ability to think outside the box and propose creative solutions to challenges. I have no doubt that she will continue to excel in her professional endeavors and contribute significantly to the growth and success of any company she joins.”
